I love the look of your set Kev. Lovely stuff that Blackwood.
I went for Macassar Ebony for the handles. Some time next week I'll post some pics.
I am bursting at the seams to get these things. It will "complete" my special set of tools. (Ok I will be waitng on just one More)
So Kev, are they as good to use as they are to look at and handle?
All the best
Kevin

Over the Top, but fun
Thanks to Spooky for posting a pic of my new toys. I pick them up Sunday. I can't wait. They look even better in the flesh. Thank you Trent.
All the best

Trully impressive. A little excessive perhaps... but impressive. I hope no-one minds, but I shared it on my blog ~ the love of wood ~: Harold & Saxon Chisels
I'm hoping in the next 12 months to pick up some mortise chisels and replace my weary bench chisels... Though I won't be getting more than ten in total... still need to pay the rent... oh and food... and ....My blog: ~ for the love of wood ~ - http://theloveofwood.blogspot.com/

A little excessive.....
no....it just so over the top its not funny. (don't tell the mrs)
The larger one's won't get much use but the smaller ones.
Some time in the next few weeks I hope to take some pics myself and you are more then welcome to use what you want from them. I can't speak for spooky but I can't see a problem.
All the best
Kevin
(ps I'll have to count them again when I pick them up)

Kev,
What the size range 1/8" to 2"? My plan was to get 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1 1/2 in the socketed bench... and the 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 in the mortise. Though those skews look kinda handy, and nicer than a LN fishtail.
If anyone's looking to buy me something for christmas... the benches in in ringed mulga and the mortises in ringed giggee would be nice thanks!
Cheers,

To tell you the truth Dan,...I can't recall so I'll let you know when I pick them up on Sunday. I ordered them at the show two years ago (it does not normally take this long) and just made it up on the spot and got carried away in the moment.
(The plan was to just order the 1/16 incraments to 1")
From what I recall:
Bench Chisels
1/16, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 5/8,3/4,7/8, 1, 1 1/4, 1 1/2, 1 3/4, 2, 2 1/4, 2 1/2, 3
Mortice Chisels
1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, .....?????
Skews were a surprise to me.
will confirm in a few days
all the best
Kev
PS love your blog

Stopped to admire that set after SWMBO pointed them out to me.
My comment to her was "I'd be too bl**dy scared to use them"
Each chisel is a work of art, the case is superb and really sets it off.
Hope you enjoy them.

Kev, my compliments to Trent for his workmanship and design. The chisels are very striking, and should be a joy to use. And my compliments to you for your good taste. Lucky bugger. Use them up and enjoy them.

I salivated over them on Friday at the show. Pure tool pawn.

I stood and stared at those chisels yesterday for a very long time. So did everyone else who walked past them.
The box is truly amazing aswell, you will be very pleased no doubt.

Hi Kev,
I saw those chisels this afternoon, incredible workmanship and attention to detail, you have got yourself a real work of art.
I don't care what they cost or how long you have to wait, they would be worth it!
Regards
Ray

Thanks for the +ve feed back on these gents. I feel lucky to be the custodian of these lovely tools. They will be used often and I'll try to look after them and pass them on down the track. To be of any value they need to be used and used alot. I hope to be able to do justice to them over time.
Trent has blown me away with the attention to detail put into the whole package. Would you believe this is Trents first attempt at a "real box" and he is not 100% signed off on the box. "A few more details need to be fixed." Well, I'm over the moon and look forward to getting some shed time at some stage in the future.
I am still waiting on a matching mallet that didn't quite make it for the show.
Take care
Kevin
