Default Help to protect Berg logo when flattening pls

When flattening the back of berg chisels how do you protect the logo. I know i dont need to be flattening that high up, just trying to protect from damage. I used my finger as a reference to coverthe label but it is not really that comfortable or effective. Tape gets wet and falls off.
I think one of those old school window clamps / locks slipped over the chisel may work? What do you do?

    Thanks Paul

Would a small 'G' clamp get in the way? I've even seen these made of plastic, if you think the extra weight might be annoying.

Most Berg Chisels have a slight curve/hollow at the area of the Logo, the Face of the Blade curves upwards (the Blade gets thicker as it approaches the handle). So if you lap any where near the Logo you will tilt the Tip of the Blade and lose the flat Face - stay well away from the Logo. Change your technique, alter the angles, be careful if working along the blade, mark the Bevel Side to indicate the position of the Logo as a reminder.

When I am flattening the back of a chisel, I have the fingers of one hand pressing down near the pointy end and the other holding the handle. If you move the thumb and index finger forward so that they are on or near the logo, that should act as a stop to protect it.
