Default Needing help with Stanley no 4 Plane

I purchased a Stanley No4 Made in England on eBay about 9 Months ago. It was pristine in original box. When received I checked it dismantled it and cleaned it. All seemed good and I was impressed.
Since then it has sat in its box as I was away and moving house etc. Soon to set up a new workshop so I took it out of its box to test and sharpen.
However The Brass Adjusting Nut was locked solid. I thought I had checked it months earlier, but now doubts set in?
After great effort I got the nut moving but instead of following the thread up the whole mechanism thread and Brass Nut unscrewed from the Frog. The thread is damaged and the thread seems damaged within the frog.

I enclose a diagram of the no4 plane so my terminology of parts relates.

    Any advice would be appreciated?
Do I start all over and get another or can members supply the relevant parts at sensible prices?
Do I need a new Frog?
or just get a new Brass Adjustment Nut and Thread?

    Appreciate any advice.

It's hard to say if the frog is damaged, but I can send you another wheel and post so that you can try it first before looking for a new frog.
PM me your details and I'll sort it for you

I have a frog from a number 5 which I believe is identical to a no.4. It's yours for the cost of postage from NZ if you want it.

OK, not what I expected - I have found a wheel adjuster but sadly no post to go with it.
Not sure if that is going to help you

Michael the advice others have given is all good. In terms of repairing the thread, tap and die sets for Stanley-pattern plane are rare as hen's teeth (I have been on the lookout now for some time).

Luckily for you Stanley No 4's are very, very common. Frankly if you are looking for a user, not a museum piece, I would buy another cheap near-equivalent, perhaps discounted because it's in poor condition, and use it for parts. You will find use for many of them. In particular you could have a second blade ready to go for a quick change-out and if the cap iron on the "dogmeat" plane is in better shape you could use that.

I picked up one of each on Ebay a few years back. They do bob up occasionally.
I got sick of sitting around doing nothing - so I took up meditation.

Hi, Sorry but, in the absence of any response, I'm going to have to withdraw the offer. Someone local has approached me for the part for a #5 he's restoring.
    Good luck.
