    Default Identification?

    I was given a box of stuff by a friend last year and amongst it were these critters. They appear to be some sort of collets but for what?
    There are no brand names or part numbers that I can see.
    they are metric.
    I'm going through a decluttering phase and will throw them out, but I have the nagging thought that they may be useful for someone.
    Any ideas?

    That is a drill guide. You fit the right size collet for your drill, place the guide crosshairs over the lines marking where you want the hole and drill the hole. Will also centre on a round object.

    I've got one I inherited from my late FIL. It can also be used as a dowling guide by putting nails in the two holes in the corners, place one on either side of the board, twist it until the nails are hard up on either side of the board, then guide is on the centre line of the board.
