Incra Based Shooting Board
I have struggled with a rudimentary shooting board for too long now! After looking at Cohen's mitre version & the exquisite Veritas mitre board, I thought the V27 Incra could be put to work.
The base is 480x260mm. I glued a 400x80mm MDF strip onto the base & made up the adjustable side to 120mm with a 10x18mm rebate to house the mitre bar. The rebate is referenced off the hardwood strip, so it is parallel. Two threaded inserts allow the piece to to be secured with zero play.
As I have a small slider, the V27 is only used on the router table & the bandsaw. The fence is a short of modular extrusion, which I love, with a ply sacrificial fence.
The result is fantastic, dead accurate & as I am about to make a batch of triangular trivets, the 30 degree angle will make the whole project a breeze!! Peter

Clever idea. I have a couple of spare miter gauges now.
