I must be ill. I sometimes see pictures of some lovely infill planes and my credit card just starts to quiver. I don't need another plane,...or tool for that matter. I see the lovely pics of planes by Brese, Holtey, Carter, Anderson and Sauer and I just want a few...it's scary the desire to have a few planes from each to play with.
Then I seen something like this:
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1351860239.607100.jpg

I just have to have one....soon.
I know I could build one but...they all do them better than I ever will.

What about you? How many of you good folk out there have given in to the infill plane bug?
    Care to share?

    Am bravely resisting.

I don't know how much more of this she can take Jim.

I love the way this timber looks when the light catches it.
Another few weeks and I can give you the full story.

    Well, they are finally here.
A special thanks to Konrad Sauer for the banter and keeping me in loop with the build progress.

I'm very pleased to introduce my little Ironwood family of planes.
I hope to put them to work this weekend.

The whole experience of selecting all the specs for the planes was fun. The banter with Konrad was engaging and enlightening. Thanks again.

Holy strings of expletives, Kev! That is one serious set of planes!

First project had better be to build a safe.

    Top notch

Well...they are intended to be user tools.
I took some shavings this morning and decided to come back inside and get the phone to take a few pics. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1359767913.319994.jpg
When I returned my 2 year old said "sorry daddy, I dropped it. It's OK I put it back"
I'd only had a few swipes with it and this is what happened.

OUCH Kev , I dont know what to say mate.
Luckily it didn't land on the little ones toes, it would have taken them off.
    But the plane, the plane......

    Oooooooooh. <Collective intake of breath>

    1. Place planes on high shelf.
    2. Walk slowly inside ... breathing slowly and deeply ...
    3. Quick squirt of lemon juice into the mouth from the plastic bottle in the fridge. Eyes too if that helps.
    4. "I'll be back shortly. Your child is outside."
    5. Pick up car keys. Enter Car. Close and lock all doors.
    6. Remove car and occupant to semi-distant wooded or park-like environment.
    7. Turn the radio up LOUD.
    8. Scream and bite the seat cushions.
    9. Recompose and return.

On the return trip, in a more relaxed state, you can debate the competing issues in
"I love my family" vs "We have got/can have other children"

    Reaaally sorry.

    Talk to Konrad.
