    Default ironbark offcuts

I have acquired some offcuts of ironbark for my wood fire and although I have put aside a quantity of old jarrah for my chisel handels I'm starting to think the ironbark might be better. I also want to make a mallet by gluing two pieces of 42mm thick pieces together with the handle housed in the middle but I have been told that ironbark does not glue well. What sort of glue would be best to stand up to being whacked.DSCF1147.jpg
Don't force it, use a bigger hammer.

Timber is what you use. Wood is what you burn.

It will glue if you clean both surfaces with acetone just before glue up. As for what glue my pick would be a 2 part epoxy that has some flexability so avoid the 5 min quick setting stuff.

Thanks for the advice. I will give it a try.
