    Default Latest Kanna purchase.

Hi Groover just had a splurge on a new Kanna from my local shop. This is an interesting plane as the mouth is slightly skewed but the blade is ground at 90 degrees.
It has the traditional style body very plain with a light coating of oil.
When you buy a plane it needs to be tune like most things to acquire the best from it so I have some winter jobs to do before ............playing.
    bye for now, Damien.

Got plenty of comments; just none really about this subject. (and I didn't have the heart to hijack your thread)

If it's a Kanna from the CT cattledog; a tad pricey for me at the moment.

Hi woody..just curious to know what stone you will finish your blade with.
I have found with mine over the yrs sharpening by hand its hard over a period of time not to slowly change the angle of the blade as the softer metal removes so much easier than the harder cutting edge. Looks nice though

Sinjin my special friend was absent from the shop on that particular day, so next time will ask him to recomend a particular type of stone and from what prefecture. The blade was described as semi sensitive as its not the top shelf but not far from it. Next week wwe will see.
Regarding your angle change may I suggest that when honing put all your pressure on the edge of the blade and as little as possible on the soft iron. Mayce this will help. Damien.
