    Default Some "Lateral" help please!

I have a No. 4 type 11 plane where the lateral adjustment lever lifts of quite easily from the pin. The pin is still there but it has obviously worn to a point where the lever can fall off.
I'd be greatful for any suggestions on fixing this.
    Thanks all.

I'm not if this helps or not scoobs but here is a photo of the pin I think you are talking about on a roughy Record No 4 I have lying around.

Perhaps if you peen the top of the pin with a hammer?

Maybe you could cut a suitable nail the correct length and peen that over to solve your problem.

    Hi Scoobs,

How's your hammering skills? I would suggest peining with a suitable sized ball pein hammer. I have done this before with good results. Just need to make sure the underside of the pin is supported as you dont want any cracked casting there due to hittin too hard on something not supported proberly.

This will work even if there's no pin protruding above the lever - as the pin will be expanded.

    Regards,
    Steve
