Let there be light
I find that more & more light is needed for me to really see fine detail when I am working at the bench. So I designed these fittings out of some scraps I just could not bear to throw on the fire, one is Australian Cedar the other European Oak
I fitted several screwed inserts around the side of the bench and used a piece of threaded rod fitted with a plastic handle to hold the fittings in place, A small piece of wood is fixed to prevent the fitting tipping. I can now move the fittings around within a few seconds to a position that best suits the job at hand, or remove them when not required.
The lamps are the standard desk lamp you can find at most lighting stores.
I hope someone will find the idea useful
Regards

Thats a bright idea !!
I can appreciate what you mean about the poor old eyes needing all the help they can get, I've just had to go up a level with my glasses for close work, and find I have to take some things outside into the sunlight to see them properly. So extra lighting in my shed is also on the list of things to do.
