    Default Is my Luban a Fake?

    Hello,

    I have just received a "Luban" #41/2 from McJings Sydney - $249. It came in a plain cardboard box with no documentation or branding and has no branding at all on the plane. It looks like a Luban and works just fine. I am fully aware of the lineage from Qiangsheng Tool Co. and that it's a cousin of Woodriver etc.

    But is it a Luban or a "Nabul"? Should I expect some sort of verification of the authenticity of the tool? It seems a bit expensive if it is a noname knockoff or second.

    It seems the Timbecon one is similarly brandless but does come in a Luban box. Of course that could have been printed in Melbourne.

    Any thoughts?

    McJing buy 'Luban' products that are both unbranded and/or have the brand of a reseller ground off. It's a Luban if they sold it as one.
    Were you buying a plane or a cardboard box?

    Fair question, no branding or documentation might be suss but McJing have a very good reputation and if the plane works well that’s the main thing. Looks like Timbecon’s version is $259. The printing on the box apparently costs an extra 10 bucks !
