Mallee Red Backsaw.
Hi. Attached are photo's of a new Carcass Backsaw I recently just finished work on. The handle is made of Mallee Red Burl timber. The saw blade size is 14" x 3" depth. Its been sharpened 14 tpi to a traditional 15/45 cross cut tooth pattern with a 20 degree fleam. A quite pleasing result after many hours of work.

Hi Stewie,
Really nice work but it is hard to tell from the pictures how well it cuts, any chance you could send it over for me to try?
On a more serious note... what is the 'crimp' in the brass near the handle for?
Regards,
Chris

Hi Chris. Thanks for the feedback. The crimp was put there as a visual break within the spine before it enters the saw handle. I am totally happy with the way it turned out so stay tuned as I will either replace the brass spine with a new one or see if I can reshape the crimp to something more easy on the eyes. I will forward new photo's when I work this out.

Hi Stewie,
As I've already commented elsewhere, that is, I think your best so far. The filing looks good too.. At 14" that would be a very sweet saw to use. Fast and clean.
Regards
Ray
