The MDF factory in Orange, NSW, just uses the saw dust from the sawmill across the road. I have never seen or heard of any additives other than the binding agents

I've made new shooting board it's ramped and I used a combination of MDF, timber and ply. The ply is glued on the runway, I'm very happy with it and it looks good too. I've also glue ply on my other boards as well now I just have to make a new bench hook as this one all worn out .

Well I finally got pics done the only knew appliances I made is the ramped shooting board and the bench hook. You might ask yourrself why I cut two vertical cuts on the bench hook, the idea was the middle one is to suit my medium crosscut saw and the far right is for the small crosscut but I stuffed up the right one where I went off the line kind of a bumma but I soon realised the first one cuts rather nicely with the small crosscut. Having two cuts will eat me for a long time just a reminder that I need to be patient when crosscutting. I put danish oil on all of them and waxed up the runway and the ramp ass the timber was hard to feed into the plane.

Looking good!
One piece of advice - round off/chamfer the rear of the fence otherwise it will break off.

Thank you Derek I will round them off your advice has never failed me, remember when my shoulder plane fell out of the tool cabinet well it happened again and this time it dented the front corner. I've tried to fix it as best I could but this time it really hurts, I don't know how it loosens itself out but now I have a rubber band holding it in place. Everything is a learning experience.
