Thanks Paul,
i think I'll just clean them up and sharpen them, although the rip saw seems reasonable already. Should make nice users and I'll leave the original patina on the handles, it has a story to tell.
cheers,
Peter

Lonely tools
Picked these up yesterday spotted them early in the day by 2ish in the afternoon they were still sitting there rather lonely no router plane to hang with. So I brought them home to become family with the No45 router I bought off a forum member just prior Christmas.
This strange looking Mortise gauge/Marking gauge looked up at me from another box

It'll keep you busy for a day or two cleaning & fettling, NewLou, but looks like a nice haul at that price. The 71 1/2 router looks like it's missing the adjuster screw, and I'd guess the 045 has a single blade? But just adding up a rough estimate for each of those planes in your haul, you seem to have done extremely well!
I wonder why the wooden knobs were removed from the 71 1/2 - pillaged to replace missing/damaged knobs on something else? That problem is easily fixed if you have a lathe, and they've kindly left both studs and the brass dome-nuts. I picked one of these up at a garage sale once, and because of inexperience & ignorance, I couldn't get much joy out of it. It went to a new owner, but I have since made my own woodie, which I get on with very well. In retrospect, I'm pretty certain I just didn't have the blade properly sharpened for the Stanley, there is no other reason I can think of why it was so reluctant to cut..
Happy cleaning & polishing....

This is a bit belated for the Monday slot and if the truth is told it was last Monday week!
Despite living in this area since 2004 it is the first time I have been to the Toowoomba swap meet. It has a strong automotive bias, but also quite a few tools.
It is held at the Toowoomba show grounds and while some of it is sited in the flat arena area there is a large proportion of it on the side of a hill. I spent about five hours in the the hot QLD sun walking up and down that damned hill! Actually I realised I had come ill prepared when I saw people towing two and four wheeled carts and trolleys. I had a water bottle and that was it. During the course of the day I bought a few saws and soon realised I was not going to be able to cart them around with me.
I recalled a carpenter's caddy I had seen earlier in the day and went back to buy it just so I could carry out my purchases. One of these:

I think I had six saws, a mitre box two rasps and this:

It did not have any sand paper in it and I have just used a piece of old belt sander. It would be easy to make up, but for $5 I bought it from the same place as I got the carpenter's carrier.
I suppose it is a poor man's one of these, which I have to say is excellent:

The sandpaper curls if left in the frame for any length of time which is what has happened here.

Monday night Show'n'Tell
Pau,
You should try Ballarat swap meet in Victoria.
I think it was 12 maybe 15 kilometres of sites last year.
I'm pretty sure it's the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere.
You start walking at 6 am if your keen.
And yep I've seen lots of saws there.
Plus a jet engine and a tea spoon lol or two.
Cheers Matt

Matt
I don't think I should really be confronted with that level of temptation. I have always been told that the Toowoomba event is the largest of it's kind, but the Ballarat event sounds humungus.
I don't know how many Kms it was, but that wretched hill got me. It seemed like there was a lot more up hill than down dale!!
