Narex chisels?
Has anyone had any experience with these chisels? I did a search on the forum and I came up with nothing.
They are available from Leevalley, here is the link...

I got a set of them, seem to be pretty good. I haven't used them enough to know whether they're better than my Marples chisels (not that that's a really high benchmark) but they appear to be, only time will tell.

PS don't hold your breath waiting for a review, I'm an avid avoider of handtool use, too hard to make money using them. Will have to wait till I'm retired for that!"If you need a machine today and don't buy it,
tomorrow you will have paid for it and not have it."

I have a set on the way and like Mick I have marples to compare them to.
I will let you know how they go when I get them."There is no dark side of the moon really. Matter of fact it's all dark."

Chances are you can believe most if not all of what Lee Valley says with respect to their opinion on what they sell. I would suspect that that's the opinion and experience of everyone here.
At 23.50 don't expect perfection. Having made a few tools myself I can say that the final finishing touches can take a great deal of time. So those chisels may not be as polished and precise as others you have used or seen.
I've got the blue chips made by Marples and a high end set made by Ashly isles and don't notice a great deal of difference unless I'm pounding them into white oak. And under that sort of abuse, the ones I made far exceed both brands. There are days when I wonder why I paid 3 times the price for the Ashle Isles when the Blue chips are only marginally worse.
