What are the expected prices for the 'Quick Action TG' series and the 'Uniklamp UK' series clamps?
Are we also able to get a price reduction on the 'Quick Action LM' series clamps?

Hi Burn,
I bought all the Bessey clamps I need from the last order however I see that there are some savings to be made on the Dadonator and other goodies. Do I need to buy any clamps to get the discounts on Colin's other items and if not, will they get shipped independantly ie without the 4-8 week wait?
Thanks,
Alex.

I can't quote those prices till Monday/Tuesday. Basically H&C cant quote a good price till they know numbers. The first round of indicative K-Body prices were based on a very sharp pencil of Colin's, the second set of indicative prices for the K-Bodies were based on prices sent back from H&C. This may seem a chicken and egg thing, but that's the way it is. One assumes the prices will be good value, but by how much, we won't know till H&C/Colin set/get the final price.
I can only suggest you place an order for what you want. If the numbers are there, then we will get a better than good price. I think we will get a good price on the non K-bodies anyway. Don't forget, at this point in time we are collating numbers. Providing the indicative prices for the K-bodies was just something we could do as there was a large number of clamps collated at the time.

Hi burn
Just a couple of questions:
1. Are the KP blocks sold as 4 pieces to a set? That is if i put down 1 on Colin's order that would be assumed as 1 set of 4?
2. Would each order be individually packaged when they arrive at the collection points. In my case Sydney?
Thanks in advance

2. No. The collection point will get a bulk delivery. The person at the collection point will also get a list of all items and who they are destined for.The person at the collection point will break down the articles for each order - no re-wrapping etc. One assumes items like KP blocks will be in bags, although of the two sets I got from Lee Valley earlier this year one set was in a plastic bag and the other set were loose. Perhaps collection point people can collect shopping bags for a week or so prior (or bring your own) ... just in case. For identification you bring your invoice.Burn

Thanks Brenton. I just need Harry and Ian to touch base to make Adelaide a clean sweep, along with Canberra, in terms of all orders go to the delivery point.
My only knowledge, or rather memories, of Adelaide are an external glass lift on a building in Hindley (spell?) Mall in the city. I was totally inebriated ... p1ssed to mer mates ... after a dinner at some nice restaurant we wandered back into the city and we saw an external glass walled lift. We decided we wanted to ride in this lift as we'd never seen one in real life. (I was at a conference ... the first one I ever went to ... I still remember, I was amazed that I had breakfast in Redfern (Sydney) and then had lunch in a Vinyard outside of Adelaide). The lift would take you up to a restaurant (different to the one I imbibed too much beer in) but the bloke running the lift (bouncer?), for some unknown and illogical reason, refused to let six loud, fall down, very happy, really really really nice drunks ride in the lift.

PS. Why is inebriated, when spelt P I S S E D, stared out. Is this such a bad word? I had to stick a 1 in the main body of my postLast edited by burn; 12th October 2005 at 10:37 PM. Reason: Why ....

You should have got a confirmation e-mail. Colin started do this a week or so ago (we are leaning on this pass). Assuming your postcode is 2061 and you may have water views then your order made it and is official.
I will be e-mailing everyone today and tomorrow what I have, based on the order system. I'd like you to email me any inconsistancies.
Late Sunday night, Colin is going to send me a complete dump of all orders and I will cross-check with what I have collected. Providing everything marries up, the collated numbers will be set and the figures sent to Hordon and Co. The price will be set a day or so later - probably Tuesday. I suggest that Colin waits a day or two for people to add clamps to orders and then send out pro-forma invoices. You pay based on that invoice. Just remember, it takes a few days for direct deposits, cheques etc to transfer, clear etc, so don't leave it till the last day as that will just delay the formal order being placed via Hordon & Co. We then wait for the ship to arrive. I'd suggest that a week or two before the ship arrives, for those of you who have'nt taken the opportunity of discounted items from Colin's other products, start prowling Colin's site for little items of interest that you can buy and then get shipped with your clamps. The discount probably won't be available at this time although Colin's prices are reasonable anyway, so you would still make a saving, even if it's just on freight providing the item is small enough (AND IN STOCK).
For the non collection point orders, there is a difficulty in setting a freight charge 12 weeks in advance (given freight costs have risen 15% in the past few weeks thanks to War and Hurricanes). Colin is mulling over how to charge for freight in this case. I suggest, for those 10 orders, he leaves off invoicing freight. You pay for your clamps, etc and as the clamps are about to arrive, Colin sets the price and you pay for freight then. This way, we don't risk Colin loosing on this whole deal. Remember, Colin is a businessman. He is essentially giving us his time for nothing and charging for everything else at his estimated cost. If he looses money on this, it is unlikely he (or anyone) would do this again.
