    Default One more saw

This is a ten inch saw in desert ironwood, a small tree that grows in our southwest. It is fairly dense and a touch brittle. It has some really interesting patterns going on in it - the customer calls it Jekyll and Hyde because of how different each side is from the other.

It had some live edge on it, and I was able to keep a little bit of it on the finished handle. The finish is simply carnauba wax applied with a powered buffing wheel.

If it looks a little backwards, it is because it is a left-handed model. The saw nuts and stamp are on what is usually considered the back side (there is no other difference).

Craftsmanship is excellent as always. I was admiring the saw on your blog thanks for sharing it here.

I think you made the right choice keeping that small section of rough texture. The wood is magnificent, will there be a set?

That is exceptional saw going there .
The timber grain and finish really work well.
And I love the setting you use to photo graph your work with .
It just looks loverly like that .
    Well done .

Very clean and well balanced.. The outstanding feature is of course the spectacular figure in that desert ironwood.. Nice to see it going to a worthwhile application.

There's a left hander somewhere that's going to be very happy!

Had to look that one up to see what it meant. Up here they call us southpaws.

Dale, this was the only saw in the order. I do have some of the wood left, but the figure in that isn't as strong.
