    Timber for Handles -

I have two sets of 8 Tasmanian Native Olive.

I have enough European Olive for one set. It got allot of color along one side. They do however some checks and splits. Most of it will turn out, but you will need to fill with Super Glue or Epoxy any defects once you get them.

I have also some QLD maple. Its got some lovely figure with quilting, the photo is from a sample.

If you want any of this for your handles post in thread or PM me.

javali & Christos have each picked up one set of the Native Olive.

We now only have the European Olive, and the QLD maple left.

I just got of the phone with Russell from Ultimate Laser who is doing the waterjet cutting for us. He says that we have filled the 7 mm sheet. So we are almost ready to go.

We are however now at 90% of the 4.5 mm sheet. We took to much away. So if anyone who dropped off the Fine Paring Chisel sheet wants back in, you are welcome to do so. Otherwise if you have been sitting on the side lines waiting here is your last chance to join in the order.

    Helmut,
For those of us still waiting for our 12mm chisel from the first round, are they going to be cut and ground to match our already provided sets?

They are the same length, and shape. However they will be 1 mm thicker. Unless you guys really want them 3.5 mm thick. We can mill of that extra 1 mm.

    Default 12mm chisels

What would be the extra cost in reducing it to 3.5mm.

My feeling is I would like it to match the other chisels in the set
Don't force it, use a bigger hammer.

Timber is what you use. Wood is what you burn.

    Hi TS,

I wouldn't mind some of that Qld Maple. How much do you have and how much is it?

    Cheers

It looks like Russell the waterjet guy and I got our wires crossed. We have little to no space left, on the 4.5 mm sheet but we have lots of space left on the 7 mm sheet.

We cannot take more order for paring chisels.

So I can take orders for 6 mm thick blades. Firmer Chisels and Turning Chisels.

Attached are images for the nesting. Showing how much space we have left on each.

    Thumbsucker,

A couple of questions for you if you would be so kind.
How are you going filling the M2 sheets?
What would you anticipate as the time frame for these chisels?
When do want us to start send you bucket loads of the folding stuff??
Where do you want us to transfer it too?
Thanks for everything your doing for us!

    Regards Mick

Its times to start collecting funds to get the ball rolling on the following orders:

    • Paring Chisels
    • Firmer Chisels
    • Turning Chisels & Scrapers
    • Plane Blades for Wooden Handplanes

Now their are 57 members participating across all five orders. Totaling over 406 items. To see a complete list of what you have ordered please see the attached spreadsheet in PDF format I will by the end of this day send out a PM, to everyone of the 57 participants informing them, of what they have ordered, and how much they owe. and into what account they need to transfer the funds into and by what date.

    Here is the pdf.

Everyone partaking in the paring chisel order should now have gotten their PM, I am working on the others.
