You will need two planes to get you started.

I assume you are using power tools to do the ruff work for you.

Using one of yourr 100 x 50 mm blades - Start by making a Jack Plane with a 55 degree bed. It can be any lenght you like somewere between 14" to 18". The mouth does not need to be super tight.

Using one of yourr 100 x 50 mm blades - Then you will need a smoothing plane with a 60 degree bed. It can be anything from 9" to 12" long. Make the mouth as tight as possible. Use the brass to tighten the mouth.

Other planes to make is a block plane and you would need a 40 x 4 x 100 mm blade, or a Low angle Miter Plane for shooting end grain but you would need a 50 x 150 mm blade.

If you PM me your email address I can send you some plans to work from.

The smaller blades are more for spokeshaves, or chair devils.

    Hope this helps.
