New Plane Design
It's not often that a new plane design comes along, so here is one that seems so different from what we are used to that it deserves our attention.
It is a high angle blade design - 50 degrees, although when you first see it this isn't immediately obvious.
The planes are from Gary Blum, and he certainly makes a beautiful set of tools.
Have a look and see what you think.

Interesting. I like the larger handle, but I'm not sure about the thinner blade. The whole set up looks very specific to them - blades, sharpening jig, etc. But certainly a good looking plane.

Interesting concept. I wouldn't have thought that mesquite was a good choice for that application, or that there was enough quarter sawn mesquite around.
Makes a nice looking tool, though.

I wouldn't like to slip while sharpening.
I like to keep all my soft parts behind the sharp end.Don't force it, use a bigger hammer.
Timber is what you use. Wood is what you burn.
