Just a guess - maybe a domestic cream/oil will not be 100% by weight Methyl Salicylate?

The ones I've looked at claimed to be 100% pure. If you Google 'oil of wintergreen toxicity' you'll get a lot of info. Not only have people died from using the oil, but they have died from using over the counter products that contain it. The sites that I was looking at that sell it online said to never use it straight out of the bottle on your skin, but to dilute it in some kind of carrier oil. Originally Posted by pmcgee
