(I will evetually fix it properly)

Doing that I eventually got the little 75 to cleanly shave across the grain which is what I need when I am cleaning up dadoes.
    Marios,

Thanks for all of that. A few years ago, I tuned all the moving bits to within an inch of their life, and as I said above put the blade in the right way up, (which may have been the cause of some frustration in the past!), but still couldn't get it to work well enough to make it a "user". Now I've pulled it out again co-incidentally at the time you changed your Avatar...

I suspect that I need to close the mouth up a lot...like to a hair's width instead of 1.5mm? I know it'll never be fantastic, but having it on the desk here at work isn't good (thanks Craig!!) I keep picking it up and thinking of knock-off time!!

    Cheers,

P (who will get it working just because.......)

Thank you ballboys, thank you scorers!!

Now, do I take the LV Bullnose Rabbet plane off my wish list??

P (Who had better watch himself as he exposes his soft fleshy underbelly; hand planes AND finishing stuff..... a hard won reputation at risk!!)

You can never have enough planes, that is why Mr Stanley invented the 1/2s
