    Default Port and starboard skews

I replace the handles on the majority of my chisels and I thought I'd have a bit of fun with this pair of Ash-handled skews.

    Hi WW

I think I would need my sunglasses in the workshop to avoid going blind .. but the turnings are delightful.

Now that sets a new standard in skill (as if you hadn't demonstrated enough already)
Not only do you not have to be colour blind, you have to be aware of the rules of the sea. Definitely a new version of "pass the port"
    Nice one,
    Jim

The stains I used are pretty old and not noted for being particularly lightfast, so I anticipate they'll mellow into a redish-brown and greyish-brown respectively - that's if I don't sling them over the fence beforehand.

    Hi Woodwould,

Nice shape, nice clean turning. the colours have a certain "Buck Rogers" look to them.

The port and starboard lights for the different skews concept means you have a marine background?

    Ah. But do they float?
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

Nifty idea WW, but I won't be rushing to copy this one b'cos:
    a) Colourblind (which causes a few problems in the day job! )
    b) I would spend much more time trying to remember which colour was left or right & forget to glance at the tip....

Those off-cuts from the table, have come in handy then?
    Cheers,
    IW

    Cheers,
FYI, the right hand one is red and the left hand one is green - or in your case, the right hand one is brown and the left hand one is brown.

If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

That's not my bench! It's actually the top of a coffer; a 600mm wide Elm board that I milled from a tree that came out of Fitzroy Gardens. And no, you can't have it!
