    Default Pound Puppies, lockdown project.

I did a saw sharpening course a few years ago and since have picked up the odd saw from the tip in order to keep in practice.
I don't have any 'before' pics for these, but they were pretty typical of what you pick up at the tip, covered in rust and paint with plastic handles.

The S&J at the bottom still has the original handle, just wants a coat of oil, but the others had the horrible huge plastic handles.
Second one up is a KINZI, I used the original saw nuts again because they were still there and usable.
The top two weren't branded and had no saw nuts but were substantially constructed little saws so I used odd nuts I had lying around to complete them.
The closed handles are kauri and blackwood wattle and the open handle is European beech from a large S&J not worthy of reclaiming.

Mistakes were made and lessons learnt, but a good little time filler for lockdown.

Hi BB. I found one nice Disston at our local tip shop, well it's nice now . Checked every so often since but nothing seems to be added to the pile. Nice work with yours.

Good stuff, I do like to see useful metal put back to work and not buried. It's even better when it's been "personalised" & resurrected as a saw you'd actually want to pick up & use!

Old bangers are just the ticket for learning saw-sharpening, the process is just the same as for sharpening a fancy boutique saw, but without any anxiety.....

    Cheers,
    IW
