Everything the seller says is OK up to the last sentence which could probably still be debated. I consider things like this a tax on stupidity

I think I'm going to start collecting planes with exaggerated claims on Ebay, there's plenty out there. It'd make a lovely display with the Ebay ad displayed next to each purchase!
Cheers, Richard

At least it doesn't have a dodgy makers mark of Scammer & Sons with a date of 1768.

Amazing what you can do with a rusty old lump of angle iron isn't it?

Well look out everyone!!!... (Yes I have a warped and dry sense of humor)
After seeing this gem on ebay with the equally warped marketing I have decided to retire on the fortune that I will amass from selling all the tools and gadgets in my shed.
I know that all on the forum will appreciate the honor I bestow upon you by actually offering the first piece exclusivly here on the forum.
I am starting with an extremely rare piece, officially known as a 'Spammer'. A carefully blended mix of hammer and spanner, a truly unique piece. It was designed and constructed many moons ago by a toolmaker I know... Made from a 3/4" ring spanner with one end cut off and a carefully considered lump of hardened axel steel no less welded to the cut end.
Most popular use in the workshop is for operating the drawbar on my turret mill, you can use the spanner end to loosen the drawbar, then turn the 'Spammer' around in your hand and give the drawbar a slight tap with the hammer end to knock the tool loose from the spindle. Much easier than using separate tools. Other uses include vent of frustration if the shed door is open while I have a major boo-boo on the mill, yes the Spammer does fly! Also good for whacking pins and punches if the real hammer is not within arm's length.
So come on everyone, open to offers here, don't insult me... If you want to get your hands on a truly unique piece of Australian innovation that blends amazingly into the art world too, put you hand up with an opening bid (AUD only). Initial increments after the opening bid shall be be in the order of $100 no less.
I have the sports car on order and an agent on the case for a beachfront villa in southern Queensland so don't let me down.

There is/was also a Berg 1/8" so-called bevel edged chisel on auction. I contacted the seller to say that it was NOT a bevel-edged (and, as he advertised, "rare") chisel, but a firmer style (almost mortice) chisel. He wrote back to say "it is all a matter of interpretation". I guess you know that he was not about to change his adbvert. The images were vague enough to take in someone unsuspecting.
Regards from Perth
Derek (looking for the 1/8" bevel edged and using a converted firmer-to-bevel edge version .... so he knows the difference!)
