Stanley No 10
I'm looking for a Tote and Knob for a Stanley No 10 plane.
Have tried Hans Brunner but he cannot help and have surfed & searched with very little luck.
Has anyone any handy sites that may be of some help otherwise its going to be a job of making my own way down the track as I have'nt got the time at present.
TIA
CheersJohnno

Left Field Idea however have you tried Lie-Nielsen Australia, I would not be surprised if the Lie-Nielsen No. 10 knob and tote would fit the Stanley No. 10.
Maybe they will sell you a spare knob and tote.

You may want to try the tote and knob of a #5.

John there is always Patrick's (very idiosyncratic) Blood and Gore http://www.supertool.com/StanleyBG/stan2.htm should take you to the relevant page.
Patrick suggests that the #10 is identical to the #5 except for the rabbet mouth. Then later he suggests that the frog and cap iron is common with the #3.
I think you can still get replacement knob and tote sets in Rosewood from the usual suspects (Carbatec, MIK, Timbercon)

John, this is currently on www.trademe.co.nz. Search for "stanley plane" and it will come up. Current bid is $50.

Thanks to both Ian & Murray for those pointers,Javali also pointed out that the No 5 tote 7 Knob should fit and I 'll sacrifice one of the 3 no 5's I have in the meantime until I can source the new ones.
As I only have the one No 10 I'd like to have it functional rather than get forgotten about.
Thanks to all

Have managed to source the Rosewood Tote & Knob from the US...not real cheap but it does give plane its full function back which i'm happy with.
