Remind you of someone?
Do these remind you of anyone we know?

Looks a fair bit like Lie Nielsen stuff.
But you seem to imply it's another new player?

Are these the new "Grant" planes? LN clones made in China (I understand they've also cloned at least one 'Veritas' plane too).
Cheers, Vann

Who is selling them in England?
.
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

And for the view of Rob Lee (one of the guys whose designs are being ripped off), check "http://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?p=318730&highlight=grant#318730"

Yeah - they remind me of the images from my blog entry... Courtesy would suggest at least a credit might be nice, which is probably what LN and LV are thinking. Ah, the irony.

Indeed.
Many thanks Alf for the images - sorry - an oversight there.
For those of you who have not visited Alf's excellent website and Blogsite see here:

One of my favourite haunts.
Many thanks Alf.
These Grant Planes are actually mentioned in a PDF sale brochure from here:
http://www.tilgear.info/secure/offersPDF/wintersale.pdf
So they are kind of in the public domain anyway.

You're right Alf. He gets good at these mere oversights if he thinks he is only being funny. When he is serious, Tom is a stickler for proper etiquette and political correctness. An absolute gentleman when he's not being a funny b3stard He still thinks the multi chisel was his idea.
Cheers

The problem of not attributing sources, is a bit vexed, in this case, to attribute the source of the first image would have given the game away... and the security people at the Tele-point International Marketting Department would not have let that happen..
By the way, it's Alice, (aka Alf), she wrote a brilliant piece on handsaw addiction a while back. I notice Pedder linked to it in his blog recently, which is how I found it. Worth a read.. http://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/v...=127911#127911
And I have to admit, given the context, ah the irony..... pretty funny.
Regards
