Well I love it!
I may however be slightly biased as the owner of this particular workshop is my Dad!
( In answer to a previous thread question; I do believe Thumbthumper's eye's were a little brightened by the experience of meeting my Dad and his workshop!)
I helped make and lay the mud bricks for this amazing space while on holidays from Uni and spent many hours scraping paint of old cedar doors and windows for their second life as part of his homestead.
I learned to cut dovetails, use carving chisels, french polish and was scolded more than a few times for not putting tools away, in this space.
Believe it or not the shellac pot has been the same Kraft peanut butter jar for as long as i can remember. The lid used to be yellow but it has evolved into the slightly Jabba the hut shaped marvel it is today over about 25 years.
The workshop is an intimate space that reeks of character, it is the scene of discovery and rebirth for Australian history and a serious source of joy for my Dad.

Pic #1: the bench. I can see the ghosts of many projects.
That brought back memories of my grandfather's shop.
It was a general purpose shop bench on the farm.
Thanks for the ride.
I admire the efforts and elegance that I see in so many woodworking bench builds
that I can find in this site and others. I wonder if the new people can fast-forward
in their imaginations? Just as certain as the sun comes up in the East, add 40 years
and benches kind of, sort of, look that way.
