    Default Restoring stanley planes.

    I noticed in another thread that some people have suggested only flattening critical areas on a plane bottom rather than trying to flatten the whole lot.

    That being the case how do you get the entire bottom of the plane to the same level of finish or polish if it's not flat?

    G'day Jack, I s'pose you don't. People who make a good user probably aren't too worried about how the sole looks, more about how it works. If you see planes with even finish it proably means the whole surface has been brought to the same level.
