Nice review.
I didn't realise Derek did reviews for your site as well.

An informative review Derek, thank you. I was given a #271 last week as a result of gifting the lock plate for the #51/52 I got from you a short while ago.
Karma.

Hi Kev
My apologies for not answering you earlier.
I suppose that Veritas could have provided for a fence (not much room) or just covered all bases by grinding the sides flat (so one could run the sideagainst a batten - as you can with the #271), but this would suggest that the Small was really just a littler Large (you understand I could not use "smaller" here ). In my opinion, the strength of a small router plane lies in the delicacy with which it is possible to work. In other words, I see its strength in freehand (e.g. inlay) work. Which was why I pointed out that the plane should come with more blades than just the 1/4".
