I am sure there will be plenty of Stanley #5 at the TTTG Tool Sale at Asquith next weekend - Sunday may 2nd. They will range from dirty to fully fettled - you are bound to find one that suits both needs and wallet.

    Default IBC/Cosman Double Irons

I received a shipment of IBC Pinnacle Irons and the NEW IBC/Cosman Double Iron today - will have them at the TTTG Tool Sale at Asquith in Sydney this coming Sunday.
The Iron in the Double Iron set is thicker than the standard IBC Iron - 3.6mm compared to 2.45mm.
The overall quality is very high, the Iron took less than 15min.s to prepare starting at 4,000# Waterstone when polishing the Face. Rather than file the mouth, I chose to grind the heel off the Bevel to allow the Frog to be moved back for the thicker Iron.
The first shaving was 0.001" and then I went finer. I gave it a try on Blackwood, River Red Gum, Cyprus Pine all with good result.

    Take care and Stay Sharp,
    Jim
