Rust prevention
In a metalwork forum thread - that I can't find now - the lathe/mill/etc guys had mentioned reservations re WD40 for rust prevention.
There seemed there might be a difference between their bright metal surfaces and the old dark cast-iron of my bandsaw and etc where it seems to work very well.
So ... link I came across ... not sure how 'independent' the 'research' is.
