What sort of teeth are you planning for it?

Cross cut, but robust enough for ripping the odd tenon cheek that's too large for the DT...
...I'll just make the other bits smaller.

Well, it looks the part, Matt, and as Paul says, you certainly went at it. I like the way you've tweaked the handle to your own taste - it does have something of the Gothic about it, as you wanted...
Well done! I look forward to seeing the 'grandchild' sometime, and putting it through its paces.....

I was going more for baroque than gothic but I might need to gild the handle or put some mother of pearl inlays in :P
...I'll just make the other bits smaller.

Ok. I sharpened the saw... 3 times
Ian'll crack my knuckles with a ruler for not paying attention...
It cuts straight now and that's the main thing...I'll just make the other bits smaller.

Matt - if it's any consolation, I sometimes have to start over when things go wrong with the sharpening step on crosscuts. For some reason my brain battles with reversing the angle of the file when I switch sides, & I really have to concentrate to keep the teth even & at the corret rake angle. Sharpening rip teeth is a doddle by comparison.
Don't worry, it'll come soon enough - you are already streets ahead of where I was at your age....
Cheers,IW
