    Default Saws tho other ones

I've seen here an other places a great interest in hand saws.especially the older ones.
There seems to be a lot of interest in the older British and America saw makers of the past.
But I'm curious to know of other countries nations ie France Sweden Russia to name a few ,they all made and still make great furniture .
What did there saws look like ,we're they the same has the British American saws.
Handle designs saw tooth geometry hang angle
    ??
I know of the Japanese pull saws .
But there seems little interest in the European makers of past .
Or I just haven't seen any high possibility there .

From what I gather most European countries use(d) bow saws for nearly all types of sawing from fine furniture to logging.

I didn't even think off the humble bow saw
I was in my ignorance thinking of just panel saws and back saws.

Nice call ... yes I too forget about the bowsaws.

    Here's a saw in a Durer painting (Melencolia) with a super-hot plane ... 1514 ! Greatest Secret in Melencolia

I remember I posted a screen shot from I think Ben Hur??? ... they had a MASSIVE bow saw ... maybe 6' x 20' or something ... suspended from a framework and swinging ... cutting marble or sandstone blocks.

    Cheers,
    Paul

No wonder this fellow looks unhappy. That soduko above his left wing is a 4x4 square!

    Merry Christmas to all.

I said "painting" ... but I guess that would be a woodblock?

That guy looks like me a few minutes after actually starting something. ... minus the wings.

    Cheers,
    Paul

Knowing the internet ... lets save that here ...
