    Default My New SCMS

    Wrong Forum!!!!

    Actually, no.

My new SCMS arrived on Thursday. Environmentally friendly. 1am neighbourhood friendly. Cuts like a dream with a 16-tpi Japanese blade.

I still want a Jointmaker Pro, but this will keep me happy for a while.

That looks very nice Ron, how much and where did you get it from if you don't mind me asking. Was looking at getting one of these about a year ago but couldn't find any that I liked.
    Cheers

    I bought it from here:

    http://thebestthings.com/newtools/nobex_saws.htm

They charged me USD97.60 to ship the saw, two DMT DuoSharp plates, and a DuoSharp holder. The parcel was delivered in six days.

I already have the Nobex Proman - an earlier version - but this is much bigger, and the Japanese blade is fantastic.

The same saw is sold by Just Tools in Melbourne, but the price is considerably more and you can't get the Japanese blade in Australia. Just the saw plus freight would have been close to the Just Tools price, but I'd still have had to buy and freight the blade from overseas. Add in the DuoSharp plates at around 1/2 their local price and buying from The Best Things was a great deal.

Gidgee1, I learned last night that The Wood Works sells the Japanese blades. I couldn't find them on the web-site, but a call or eMail should set you straight.

Their price on the Champion is from another planet, but it might be worth checking for their blade prices. If they're too expensive, I can recommend The Best Things (link in earlier message) for their pricing and speed of service.
