New Scraping plane sole. Should I dull the machined edges ?
I recently spent big money on a new big veritas scraping plane. The machining of the sole is very precise. Should I gently dull the machined edges of the sole with a super fine diamond file, wet stone or black wet dry sandpaper glued to metal or wooden stick?

I would say yes.
In that yes I would take the edge off edges ,no pun intended.
I would give it just a few runs with some wet and dry paper (240?)on a hard rubbing block.
Only to really just break the edge nothing more.
You may not even be able to see what you have done ,but just enough so you can feel it just.
