    Default Saw sharpeners in Perth??

I have got 4 or 5 old handsaws that need sharpening.

    Default Saw Sharpeners

I use Carbide Tool Industries in Ledgar Rd Balcatta. I've always been happy with their work and they have reasonable prices (I have no connection with the company).

    Cheers,

    Steve

    Hi Steve

Out of curiosity, do they refile the teeth, or re-tooth the plate? And what do they charge for backsaws?

    Regards

    Hi Derek,

They re-file the teeth but I'm not sure how much they charge for a backsaw. The last saw I had done was a Spear and Jackson crosscut and it cost around $20. They are just around the corner from Carbatec so next time you are there it might be worth dropping in to check them out.

    Cheers,

    Steve

These guys sharpened the blades from my very old thicknesser - about 500mm x 60mm x 12mm - and were very helpful.

Not easy to replace that size, and they evened them up and gave a very light sharpen as they were dished along the cutting length. All for $50 or thereabout.

Haven't been there for any type of hand saw, but I was very happy with them.

    Cheers,
    Paul McGee
