Default "slick" chisel used for timber framing

I'Ve just finished reading a book on "traditional timber Framing", It's American, and they use a very large 2inch+ chisel to clean up the mortices'. I'm looking at building my shed using this "system".
Can you buy them and how much? are they hard to come by?

Well I haven't come across any Metre long Chisels lately but if I see any I'll tell you.

Slicks are huge and the only one I'ves seen (a picture) was one made by Chris Vesper.

You could grab a big old titan or something and make a really long handle for it... I could make the handle if you can't

    Hi Irbrill,
There is a bloke at Caloundra called Stuart Minuskin who has a few listed on his website.
    See:
    http://www.toolexchange.com.au/Edge%20tools.htm
As Ivan has said, they aren't cheap.
Chris Vesper makes a huge one, and they are also available from Lee Valley:

This one from Lee Valley is probably the best value, and with the A$ the way it is, an appropriate time to buy.
    good luck
