Thread: Something NEW for KNEW?

Picking up the saw and taking it to a class I reviewed the website as I never really did get the hang of fitting the blade.Once again I couldn't quite get it right. I did use it but it seemed wobbly.
Over time the blade tensioning knob had become stiff. Rather than moving up and down the thread the knob was twisting the thread out of the blade holder.The you tube videos described over tensioning the saw and that seemed to be my problem at first.
Enter Brian Meek. One contact via email and Brian provided me with the instructions to fix it using Loctite. 24 hours later problem solved.

However there was still a minor wobble at the opposite/ handle end. Current hypothesis (Fletty's) is that it's possible the friction fit has been affected by the wood drying over time.

In addition in the thread above my saw is the smaller test subject you can see the crack but it had not opened up. The crack in the Aluminium blade holder has become somewhat larger and looks like it requires replacement. At $27 I can buy a replacement set of clamps. Once I have the clamps I think I will go for the epoxy option. to be clear the replacement handle or the handler have not created the crack. The instructions suggest if you over tension the saw you can " tear the saw apart" . I'm thinking that this may cause the crack. I've contacted Brian again
