    Default Stanley 45 & 50 for 40 bucks.

Just got back from our fortnightly trip to the Markets. I got my allowence today from the wife. Giddy with excitement, I just HAD to buy something.

Got these 2 planes for $40.....They were strapped up together, with a glasses case full of blades, with $45 written on them.....

    I said,,,,' How about $40 '

He said reluctantly, with a grin (but with shifty eyes),,,,' aaaaare dunno, pretty cheap already, yeh ok, just cause your a firey ' ....RFS cap on me head.... (lucky he didn't know I'm one of those pyromaniacal fireys  joking)

    Ta mate.

Funny thing is........He thinks he ripped me off. He thinks its all junk. I reakon I did ok. I'm after no.45 parts, for another experiment....Its complete except for the sliding skate....... I don't need another no.50. But its complete and in good nick. The blades should prove handy. And the glasses case may be good one day when I need glasses.

What do you think ? ...Do you think I got ripped off ?......On e-bay I've noticed prices higher than this..

    You did great, Jake!

And what could be better than two people thinking they did well?

    Take care, Mike

Ripped off. I'll give you 30 for both -- and that's just 'cause you're a nice bloke.

I think you ripped him off. I paid $35 for less than half what you got there and I had to try and source missing parts. Gotta get myself one of those caps next time I go to the market.

Bottom line, you did very well .

Oh yeah ! have to get one of those hats....wear that hat, and suddenly people respect me !....not kidding..... get into the tip for free, get hit on by coppers in skirts, get a lot of that, uno,,,,,' its on the house ' sort of stuff.

So, you going to join up ! ..... we're always short of members . But remember .....you won't get paid .... the only perks are the hat....and ' good to help out the community ' feelings...

Seriously, I think I just got lucky with the planes. An old scrooge, that didn't know current prices. He genuinely thought the stuff was worthless, and was being cheeky trying to flog them for $45. I'm beginning to think, I should have offered far less .....like $20 and haggled to $25. I probably would have got it.

We all gota get lucky sometime.
