Stanley#95 replacement iron
6 months ago I ran out of blade adjustment on my Stanley #95 Edge Trimming Plane. An ongoing search on ebay failed to find a replacement, so I made the decision to make my own using a spare block plane iron with matching notches on the back. (replacement iron shown left in attachments).

Nice!
I find the adjustment a tad frustrating on my example of this plane. By the time I get the iron sticking out, the teeth have stopped engaging with the notches. It's one of the factors that has me wishing I'd spent my money on a Lee Valley plane instead.
If you ran out of blade adjustment, you must use this pretty regularly. I'd be interested in what kinds of uses you've found for it.

Hi Bill; the model I own had seen a fair bit of use prior to me purchasing it.
Its a type 1 or 2, but I need to do a bit more study on its features.
Its intended purpose within its design is to fine tune the edge to 90* using the primary face of the timber as its reference.
regards Stewie;
