    Thanks Helmut.
In addition to the 2 inch blade that I have already ordered, could I also have a 2 1/4 inch please.
Are these still coming with the thick cap-irons?
Will the cap-irons come with an appropriate mounting screw?
Sorry if I have missed this detail somewhere in previous posts.

PS I'm glad the chisels arrived safely and yes I will keep my eye out for you for others.

Thumbsucker, I don't think I was clear in my original post. Can I grab 2 of each blade (and chipbreaker) you've got me listed for (i.e. 2x 57mm and 2x 60mm)?

I will get you accurate dimensions of the 605 1/2 blade on the weekend.

    Cheers,
    Mark

Default Late commer ... questions :-)

    Hi Thumbsucker,

Sorry I've just noticed this thread and am interested in 5 blades at 2 3/8" (for my Stanley 4 1/2's and Stanley 6's) - assuming that you still have blades available, please.

    My questions are -
How much of the sheet is lost with cutting?
What would the total cost be (including polishing)?

    Thank you in advance,

    Interwood

Yep - sure wood - one can never have enough TS (Thats Tool Steel or Thumb Sucker!)

I'd probably be interested in something like a strip 100 mm wide x 500 mm long

    Helmut
    I measured them.
The no. 4s and 5s I have vary between 51 and 52 mm wide with an 18mm hole.
Could I have 3 please and chipbreakers or is it called capiron?
    Cheers
    Jim

Hi Helmut, can you explain why the original chipbreaker may not fit the new plane blades? Do you just mean it may be wider or narrower than the new iron?

    Cheers

The location of the slot relative to the cutting edge as well as to the non cutting end of the blade are different for the 4 1/2 and 6. Given that my existing blade has the dimensions given in the compsarison spreadsheet for the No 6 blade, I think I would prefer to stick to that. Sorry to muck you around though....

    Hi Helmut

I notice in the latest list you have me down for 10 blades, that should be 9. You have me listed for 2 x 605, and sadly I only have the one.
