Stanley planes from over seas
In us especially have a greater range of vintage stanley planes, and they are usually sold at a low price. The main concern is the shipping fee which can be around 40-60 Australian dollars. I have just contacted on the the sellers and learned that
"any set of planes weighing more than 4 pounds would cost that same ($39 us) ($621 au) amount, as long as they'll go in a Flat Rate box."
This opened up a whole lot of possibilities for me and member wanting to purchasing overseas plane can probably but a set or 4 together and combine the postage fee, saving a whole lot of money!

The size of the flat rate box limits you to a pair of #4 planes and a block plane sized third or possibly another number four. There would be just enough room for the needed bubble wrap. That still is a good value.
While I have no crystal ball, I wonder if the US dollar might be harmed by inflation in the coming months and hence lead to a better exchange rate for us.
Good luck in your plane hunt.
