    Default Stanley Tools

    Around 30+ years ago I had a penchant for buying vintage Stanley from the USA. Kind of glad I started back then as the cost of international postal to Oz is now incredibly high.

    My interest in Stanley tools was primarily but not restricted too lobster back block planes and socket chisels in the 720 & 750 class.

    That penchant has wained in recent times and I will likely be selling off my collection over the next 12 months on the bay.

    Part of my collection includes 1 of 3 Stanley #65 Block Planes. The one shown in the attachment comes with its original box and label. Stanley manufactured the lobster back block planes from 1911 - 1963. Reverting back to the lever cap design in 1964. Based on the Stanley log stamped on the blade, this block plane was manufactured between 1930 - 1935.

    Also shown in the attachments is a Stanley store counter display box purchased from the usa. Likely dates around 1930 - 1940.

    regards Stewie;

    Like you Stewie I bought a lot of Stanley planes way back when the cost of shipping was affordable ,mainly all the numbered bench planes 1-8 as well as some duplicate friction reduced soled planes .Also the combination planes which I have taking up space.Some of them are in pretty good nick others may still need a bit of attention.

    These will need to go eventually down the track.
