    Default Swedish Chisels Website

    Hi all,

Don't know if someone has posted this before, but I stumbled on this website last night searching for info. Looks like the bloke is on a mission to get info about swedish chisels. Seems to have only been set up last year and could do with info that is a bit more meaty. But good to see someone having a crack...

    cheers,

He seems to have run out of steam - nothing since last fall.

I know the author and he has definitely not run out of steam, probably just out of new sources of information. Researching Swedish chisels from Canada is extraordinarily difficult. There isn't much written on these, and I'm sure he has posted what he has been able to find. You could help out by sending him photos of any Swedish chisels you find, especially those still with their original labels. Boxed chisel sets with their larger labels are probably more likely to have greater amounts of information on them. Also, if there is a Swedish speaker out there, who could search Swedish sites, that might help a lot too.

One mystery he would like to solve is, "which company actually made the Beaver chisels?" There is a lot of speculation, but no documented proof so far.

If there is more meat, those dang vegetarians are hiding it. =8)

Information (in English and in Swedish) is very scarce on most of the 60+ brands of Swedish steel chisels listed on the site. However, new posts and pages will continue to trickle in. The plan is to eventually have one for every brand listed.
