    Thanks, RufflyRustic!

The D-8 handle was fun to do for the challenges it presents, even if I did slightly mess up the handle in the end.

    Take care, Mike

    Hey Mike!

That is just great work, well done! What do you charge for your backsaws? They are beautiful.
That's a great book you have there too. I have just got it my self after just 'discovering' Sam in a FWW mag. His work really pushes my buttons.

    Hi Mike,

Wonderful work. Truly wonderful. Are you thinking of making these for general sal, perhaps?

    Cheers!

PS I can imagine Tom (from LN) having a minor conniption at this

wonderful tools. I've been trying to source some steel for the same purpose here. Can you tell us what type of steel you use and where you get it from.

Also, do you pein the steel ?

    thanks

    Hi TassieKiwi,

One of the things that always amazed me about Sam--aside from the beauty of his pieces--was his shear production quantity. Incredible output even when he worked alone.

Another book not readily viewable in that picture is The Furniture of Sam Maloof, written by Jeremy Adamson, published by The Smithsonian. There's a lot of overlap between the two, but Adamson's book has a fuller background, further life stories and more pictures <g>.

There's a price list here for our saws:
    http://www.wenzloffandsons.com/saws/...price_list.txt

We haven't sent any to Australia and have no idea about the costs of doing so at this point. So I think that is a consideration. Whatever the cost, we don't add anything more than actual shipping.

I thank you for your interest. I'll weigh some saws and perhaps I can figure out pretty close.

    Thank you, Mike

    Hi Steve,
Thank you very much for the compliment!
I just put a link to prices in the previous message--so yes, they are for sale.

Me thinks TLN will only care if I am in business a year from now! Maybe less if sales continue to grow at the rate they are. Right now sales are keeping two of us pretty busy with some late nights. By June we expect to hire back another one of our sons, which makes the business name appropriate again! The Sons part being plural and all.

Thank you again for the kind words--they make our day all the more enjoyable.

    Take care, Mike
