Yes, I brought one of these things back from the US recently, Fuzzie. Absolutely awesome pieces of equipment, but probably not relevant to day to day carpentry - unless you're doing some large framing or boat building work.
Still, I'd like to have 4 or 5 of them in a rack on the wall - just for the display impact. The one I have was already sharp and is from a known manufacturer, although there seems to be plenty of unbranded or blacksmith made ones around.
You've probably already seen it, but a link to my post is:

Hardenfast,
Where abouts were you travelling. I am off to the south west for a month early in the new year, California, Arizona, Nevada. Any tools in those states or is it North East type stuff?

Hi Pusser. I bought my slick from a guy in Pennsylvania, and many of the larger slicks seem to be over on the east coast. I think this is where much of the barn building etc was done. Depends what you're looking for I guess. The USA is a big place - many bargains to be had if you know what you're looking for.
If looking for chisel slicks I generally just do a search on eBay USA. Check out this link:

I generally head over there 2 or 3 times a year - travelling pretty much all over - California, Florida, New York, Illinois etc. I have an address I can get stuff to delivered to in New York and Florida, so I always seem to have plenty of stuff to bring back. All great fun!

Many thanks Wayne. I hope to have some time away from wife and daughter in the states to browse a few places. Should get some mystery parcels delivered to my daughter before I go!

Drop Bear, you only push the slick, allowing it weight to do the work.
