Hi Helmut,
Is it possible with these blades to get no shaping (tombestone, rounding or whatever) on the ends? so they are just square.
Thanks,
Steve

Why?
One thing I hated with the first and second batch order you needed to round the ends to make it more comfortable to handle.
Plus having the tombstone motif brands the blades as our and it looks prettier.
If you like you could order a longer blade then cut it off. If you had a metal working drop saw.

why - well I am listed for 2 blades @ 200mm thats as long as what is on offer. the aims was to cut the these at some odd lengths (not sure exactly what lenght yet) in the middle and it would suit me better not to have a shaped end - that I would want to have as the cutting edge.
These blades are hard and while I can cut them it will affect the temper of the edge so the cut edges (middle of the blade would then be shaped (rounded alittle) without concern for loss of any temper.
Its also one less process that they ned to undergo.

Relevant post here. Note the temperature scale is in F.
So, unless you get above 'blood red', the lowest you will get with M2 is R61.

Usually it a bank deposit to an account that has been set up just for these batch orders.I only start collecting funds, when we have enough interest to proceed with the order.
I have uploaded the pdf with everyones allocations. I had to redo the spreadsheet since my hard drive died last week and I lost the original. So if there are any errors in it please PM me, and I will correct it.
BasilG - Has asked if we can make some shoulder plane blades - Is anyone else interested in making their own shoulder planes?

I'd be interested in a 3/4" shoulder plane blade and two 2 1/4" blades for the Veritas BU planes.
