Shouldn't be too bad - Aussie post calculator reckons about $40 for registered airmail for up to a kilo. Still works out a darnsight cheaper than ordering from elsewhere! And it means they come from home, which is also kind of cool
If theres space then put me down for:
3 of 40*6*100
1 of 50*6*100.
How much do they weigh? By my calculations the 40*6*100 will weigh about 200g and the 50*6*100 will weigh about 250g. A bit less when you factor in the bevel and the tombstone.

Trizza I have added you to the list.
Your estimates on weight are about right.
Tones of space left on both sheets.

Hi thumbsucker,
I have decided to try to make a plane.
If I am not too late I would like to order 2 x 150mm x 50mm x 6mm blades.

Peter, the order goes ahead when we have enough interest to fill a sheet of steel.
When that happens we start collecting funds. I will send out a PM, to everyone with details.

Hi TS
did you get a chance to do a test run with this blade thickness on your LV BU planes to see if they will suit.
I maybe interested in a couple if they fit.

I am new to the forum, how do I order some of this blades?
[QUOTE=thumbsucker;995625]I have been getting PM's from members asking me to run another batch order for wooden hand planes. So here we go again.
The steel will be M2, the blade thickness will be 4 mm or 6 mm in a wide variety, widths, and lengths, to suit virtually every need.
Here are the size, thicknesses, and prices, that will be on offer.
- 25 x 4 x 80 mm @ $41.00
- 30 x 4 x 80 mm @ $41.00
- 40 x 4 x 50 mm @ $41.00
- 40 x 4 x 100 mm @ $43.00
- 40 x 4 x 150 mm @ $46.00
- 40 x 4 x 200 mm @ $49.00
- 50 x 4 x 60 mm @ $41.00
- 50 x 4 x 100 mm @ $43.00
- 50 x 4 x 150 mm @ $46.00
- 50 x 4 x 200 mm @ $49.00
- 50 x 6 x 100 mm @ $48.00
- 50 x 6 x 150 mm @ $53.00
- 50 x 6 x 200 mm @ $58.00
- 60 x 6 x 100 mm @ $50.00
- 60 x 6 x 150 mm @ $56.00
- 60 x 6 x 200 mm @ $62.00
I have over estimated the cost, based on previous cost's we had for them in the past, plus a safety margin, so the price will be very stable.
Attached is the usual pdf's.
The ETA for this order is three months. I do not want it to drag on for to long. So get your allocation in as soon as possible.[/QU

Quite simply Fritz, post here with the type and quantity. When the order has enough interest to fill the required sheet of base steel Helmut will begin the manufacture and acquire funds from members via bank transfers.

Making smoothing planes, need blades planes and timber.
Hi Helmut,
I would like to make myself two different Japanies style smothing planes.
Would I be able to put in an order for two blades 50x6x100 m/m.
Would you or anybody know what is the best timber to use and were I can get hold of some?
I hope I got it right this time with the post.

Fritz I have added you to the list.
White Oak is traditional and easy to get. Both Mathew's Timbers and so does AFT Timbers.

And, there is a wide variety of other woods suitable, albeit not traditional to Japan.
