    Default Titan chisel handles.

    Hi all,

I need to re-handle a 1 1/2 inch titan straight edge registered firmer and, taking the cue from the other thread re the berg handle, was wondering if anyone could let me know the dimensions of an original handle.

I also recently acquired a titan 2 inch straight edge firmer chisel which has been re-handled. It's a well-made handle, but it's simply too long and just doesn't feel right when I use it. Though I'll probably cut this one to size as opposed to making a whole new handle, out of interests sake I'm also wondering what the dimensions are for an original of this handle as well...

Any info/advice would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    DO

Search for chisel handle templates or similar, we had a thread going a few years ago where people posted all the handles they had made and copies there where lots of titans in various sizes....
    Good luck.

    Desert Oak,

I have a number of them and have made a range of replacement handles - if you are in need of some photos or specific measurements I cold pull a few originals out and send photos. I have cut steel tubing to make a range of ferrules too - happy to share a set if that's all you need.

    Hi Fraser,

Thanks for the kind offer of pics - I'm intrigued to know if there is a difference between a titan 1 1/4 handle (which I have) and the 1 1/2 and 2 handles (which I don't have). So, then I can simply compare to my titan 1 1/4 handle.

    DO,

I will get out the examples I have of each and photograph, measure.

My feeling is that there is as much variation between handles as there is between sizes; I do find however that there are three sizes of ferrule used, which are correlated with size.
